The Turks & Caicos Islands were hit by two Hurricanes - Hurricane Hanna and Hurricane Ike - in the space of less than one week this September. Ike hit our shores as a dangerous Category 4 storm, while Hanna hovered in our vicinity for 3 days, dumping torrential rains. While our main tourist center of Providenciales escaped serious damage and is back up and running, the islands of South Caicos, Salt Cay and our historic capital of Grand Turk took direct hits and suffered extensive damage. We are fortunate no lives were lost or serious injuries occurred, but we have tremendous re-building challenges ahead.

I’ve been playing the lotto for 20 years. Growing up in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos – this was more than just a hobby – playing numbers, as we call it, was a passion.
